A new home

I can't believe how long it is since I've been on here - where does the time go? In between my last entry and this one we have actually moved house - so have been pretty busy! In a moment of madness we decided we would do the move ourselves - after all the new house is only a ten minute drive from the old one, so it seemed like it should be a fairly easy task in theory. Ha ha how wrong we were - try moving the contents of a 5 bedroom house, including all manner of heavy furniture, with three children and a cat in tow, in 44 degree blazing heat. Not quite so simple after all! We hired a truck, the driving of which terrified the life out of poor Ally, and managed to cobble together some very brave helpers - three (or was it four?) truck loads and about twenty five carloads (no exaggeration) later we were finally in! Absolute madness, but quite an achievement once all was said and done (let's just not mention the broken barbecue and the now castor-less piano, eh...)

The new house is lovely and we already feel very at home here. The children have great bedrooms and we have lovely views - and as a bonus there is a great cubby house in the garden for the kids - complete with slide, sandpit, telescopes and even a beer bottle opener!

So what else has happened?
Well, William had his 6th birthday of course and enjoyed a trip to the cinema with two of his buddies, followed by some time at Timezone (arcade games!) and lunch at McDonalds. He is such a lovely boy these days, very sweet with Charlie the kitten and doing so well at school they have put him into a class with the year above. He lost his first tooth yesterday too (biting into a corn on the cob!) so also had his first visit from the tooth fairy last night...
