This weekend!

This weekend Katy was away on guide camp, sleeping under the stars in tents actually just a few minutes walk from our new home, with 160 other guides from around the local area. I dropped her there around 4pm on Friday, and sneaked past for a peek on Saturday morning, afraid to make myself known but taking a few surreptious piccies through the bushes!!! Apparently she had a lovely (if a little cold at night) time, but didn't get too much sleep!!!

Meanwhile Ally had a busy sporting weekend with three soccer matches of his own to play, so after William's (winning) match on Saturday morning, I made the most of a free afternoon with just the two boys. I asked them what they would like to do, and top of the list was to 'get the bus' so we decided to try out the bus route from the stop just opposite our house, which would take us directly to the train station, which would then take us directly into the CBD (sydney centre). I don't think we have got the bus anywhere since arriving in Australia, and with Tom now twice the age he was when he arrived, he didn't remember ever getting the bus at all, so this was quite an adventure!!!

Once we got into Darling Harbour we had a lovely time as there were large screens showing the World Cup, and we watched various street entertainers then enjoyed large icecreams... before enjoying the train and bus ride home (which, truly, were the highlight for the boys!!)

Simple pleasures...
